Taking place half a century after the events of the first film, Earth has barely escaped the impending doom of the sun’s explosion and is now on a 2,500-year journey to the nearest star, Proxima Centauri. However, the new challenges of deep space travel, coupled with the complex web of international politics and power struggles on the generations-old space station, make for a rocky ride.
